What does my Farmhouse Delivery Membership include?
Membership is required for placing any type of order, including subscriptions and a la carte orders. The one-time membership fee of $20 is due upon sign-up and primarily cover the costs associated with packaging.
Where does the produce come from?
Always Texas, no exceptions. Most come from farms within 150 miles of Austin. We venture a little farther out for specialty items like citrus, avocados, apples and mangoes. Even so, we stay within the great state of Texas!
How many people does a produce box serve?
The Large Box should serve 3-4, and the Medium Box should serve 1-2 people for one week (depending on diet, lifestyle and cooking habits).
Do you deliver to me?
If you live in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, or Dallas we probably do! Search by zip code to verify. If your home address isn't currently part of our delivery area, your office might be and we're happy to deliver there.
Do you offer free delivery?
Yes! All orders over $40 and all large bushel orders receive free delivery. Orders under $40 will be charged a $4.99 delivery fee.
Which credit cards do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards.
Do you deliver to offices or apartments?
Absolutely! Just make sure we have your gate codes or any special instructions.
What if I'm not at home when you deliver?
Your deliveries will be packed in plastic bins with ice packs, and any especially sensitive items are insulated with additional ice packs. You may also leave an iced cooler outside, and we can easily transfer the items in your box into your cooler. Please be sure to contact customer service to leave a note indicating that the driver should transfer your items to the cooler.
Can I choose the items in my produce box?
Farmhouse produce boxes are comprised of the freshest seasonal fruits and veggies that Texas farms have to offer. Produce box offerings change weekly. You can designate up to 3 vegetable dislikes on your account. When you're signed in, go to 'My Account' and select 'Acct. Options.' Click the link to ‘Modify Your Personal Information’ and choose your vegetable dislikes. For any additional produce/dietary preferences, please email our customer service team at email@example.com and we will add long-standing notes to your account. To personalize your produce box from week to week, you can leave notes for our pack room in the order notes section for each delivery.
What else do you deliver?
We offer a variety of meat and poultry cuts, farm-fresh dairy and eggs, artisan baked goods, pantry staples and some prepared foods. You can add them to your order just once or with every delivery. Visit our market page and add your selections anytime.
What is the deadline to change my order or delivery?
The order deadline is 10am two days before your delivery day. Your order cutoff time is reflected on the Shopping Cart page next to the 'Totals' column for easy reference.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can put your orders on hold or cancel at any time for any reason, as long as it is done via phone or email at least 48 hours before your delivery day. Please contact customer service to cancel your account on 512.529.8569 or firstname.lastname@example.org
What does 'satisfaction guaranteed' mean?
We do everything we can to ensure that you are completely satisfied with your order. If you aren't completely satisfied, please let us know within 14 days of your delivery (email@example.com) and our customer service team will happily make it right. From replacement product to an account credit or a refund, we will process it as soon as we receive it because we want to make sure you are taken care of!
What about the bins?
Your fresh produce comes in plastic bins, which we reuse. Please leave the empty bin outside on your next scheduled delivery day, and the driver will make the exchange. We also reuse as much of the packing materials (ice bottles, egg cartons, shredding) as possible. If those items are salvageable, please leave them in the empty bin.
How is this different from a CSA?
Farmhouse Delivery offers more variety, flexibility and convenience than a typical Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. Because we source from many different farms, we can offer a broader variety of produce throughout the growing season. Unlike a CSA, you do not have to pay for the season up front, and you can skip a delivery or alter your schedule as needed. You only pay for the deliveries you receive. You can also customize each delivery and let us know which fruits and veggies best satisfy your needs. Best of all, we come to you!
Do you sell raw milk?
No. It is currently illegal to sell raw milk outside of farm locations. We do however sell raw milk cheese.
What are the standards for your meat?
Farmhouse rigorously quality tests every meat supplier who hand-selects every cut. We only believe in pasture-raising animals and humane processing practices. We support ranchers who treat their animals with kindness and respect and feed their animals using the same food standards of which we hold our own food.
Is your produce organic?
Almost all of our produce is grown with organic practices; many of our small family farmers do not have the resources to afford organic labeling on their products and therefore cannot be labeled as 'Certified Organic' under the USDA. On rare occasion we will source conventional produce, though this does not happen frequently. All of our produce is always 100% locally raised in the state of Texas.
